On the feast-day (28-7-2008) of the first saint from the land of India – Blessed Alphonsa Muttathupadathu, to be canonized on 12 October, 2008 – a new centre for evangelization was opened in the land of Sikhism.During the homily, his Excellency highlighted the importance of the Media Apostolate in the Church.
After the thanksgiving Eucharist the Bishop released The New Community Bible and presented the first copy of the same to the Vicar General of the Diocese.
